Gaudi-Jujol, the Mediterranean in La Pedrera

This documentary unveils facts and aspects of the CASA MILÀ building (La Pedrera), located on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona, that were previously unknown in the context of the educational resources disseminating Gaudí’s architecture. It highlights the close collaboration between Gaudí and Jujol during the construction of this building and the magnificent results it yielded.

Drawings by Jujol, currently preserved at the College of Architects of Tarragona, have been instrumental in shedding light on the solutions implemented in the building.

The documentary demonstrates that La Pedrera cannot be considered a Modernist work but rather a clear manifestation of a new proposal for avant-garde architecture and art.

Notable elements include the design of the wrought iron balconies and entrance doors, the plaster ceilings, the finishes of the stairwells, the ventilation towers and chimneys on the rooftop, and other decorative details in the most representative spaces of the Milà residence, such as the columns and furniture.
