After the fracture of Pangea millions of years ago, and surrounded by oceans, seven astonishing continents have shaped the Earth’s surface as we know it today.

“Freshwater Gardens” reveals how freshwater, the only vital element, in any of its forms, crucially influences the ways of life of the beings that manage to survive on each of these continents.

This series will show us the influence of this essential liquid and how the seasonal whims and transformations of water in its liquid, solid, and gaseous states affect animal behavior differently on each continent, including the plains, forests, and deserts of Africa or North America, the jungles of Australia, South America, and Asia. On the frozen continent of Antarctica, we will discover life at the extremes, in the place with the greatest amount of freshwater accumulation on the planet, while in the densely populated Europe, we will reveal surprising wildlife dramas in some of the last untouched places of the Old Continent.

In a time of climate change, rising temperatures, droughts, or torrential rains distributed almost equally on a global level, it becomes essential to show the importance of freshwater and how it sustains the valuable diversity of life on our seven continents.
